Things to Fear

While reading the novel - Totto-chan by Tetsuko Kuroyanagi, I came about this phrase which I find it quite deep.

Quoted from the book, page 81:

Having eyes, but not seeing beauty;

Having ears, but not hearing music;

Having minds, but not perceiving truth;

Having hearts that are never moved and

Therefore never set on fire.

These are the things to fear.

Not sure if I truly understand what it means, but it should get clearer as times goes by...
